Those that have been following Space Hound Records since the beginning may remember the logo of a neon green alien wearing blue headphones. In February of 2022, co-founder of Space Hound Records, Corey (aka “MATRIXX”), made the decision to launch his very own music production company, Nebula Productions. Starting off, he offered services such as music production, mixing and mastering. Although MATRIXX loved offering these services, he wanted to build more meaningful connections with his fellow musicians. That’s when the Nebula Productions Discord community was born.
As members continued to join the Discord server and MATRIXX continued to work with various music artists, he started to notice something; There was a lack of genuine support and authentic artist development within the music industry. That was when he, along with his girlfriend, Therese (aka Tiki Tee), decided to launch their independent record label, Space Hound Records, with the mission to provide music artists with the guidance and resources necessary to navigate the ever-changing music industry.
Although the Nebula Productions green alien was loved by many, it didn’t quite capture the traits that the rebrand set to achieve. With a space theme still in mind, it was at this time that inspiration emerged from daily life.
Meet Celeste, the loyal earth hound who inspired the name and image of Space Hound Records. Although she’s not blue in real life, Celeste always remains close to her companions, (even during sessions!). Her loyalty and dedication are the exact qualities that Space Hound Records strives to embody. As a result, Celeste was reimagined as the blue dog wearing a space helmet and sunglasses.
