In Northern New Jersey, Space Hound Records co-founder and Music Reviews Live! livstream host, Corey, is kicking off a new chapter with a milestone birthday, a debut single, and a songwriting competition win all in one day. Released on September 26, 2026, “Sinking” marks Corey’s first official release from his solo project, Smile for the Camera.
Featuring Irish rapper Immute, “Sinking” blends metalcore with trap, EDM, and ragtime elements, bringing together Corey’s love for heavy music and his passion for experimenting with unexpected sounds.
“I want listeners to have fun, really. That’s all I can really ask for. That and to make them smile,” says Corey. “I also want people who have struggled with bad panic attacks to know that they can overcome them.”
After years of producing music and collaborating with other artists, Corey is stepping into the spotlight to tell his own story through Smile for the Camera, a project that brings together his influences, personality, and creative vision.
“Smile for the Camera is my story, my vision, my passion, my chaos, and my personality all combined into one labor of love,” says Corey.
The release also marks a personal milestone for Corey, who showcased his vocals on a song for the first time. That leap of faith paid off when “Sinking” took home first place at IMSTA FESTA NYC’s Songwriting Competition, making Corey’s 30th birthday one to remember.

About Corey and Smile for the Camera:
Corey is a Northern New Jersey-based producer and music artist whose influences span metal, hip-hop, R&B, pop and more. After years of working with various artists and bands, he launched Smile for the Camera as a solo project to share his own story through genre-blending production and unapologetic creative expression. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bring Me the Horizon, Dance Gavin Dance, and August Burns Red, Corey combines his metal roots with unexpected musical elements to create a sound that reflects his personality and passion for experimentation. The project’s debut single, “Sinking,” featuring Irish rapper Immute, was released on September 26, 2026, and won IMSTA FESTA NYC’s songwriting competition that same day.
